Still waiting for the wind and snow, although it was always marginal,
but our first air frost struck this morning with a min of -1.2°C at
08:59. Currently a very pleasant 'quiet' day at 1.1°C, wind gusting to
5mph and 7/8 Ac/Cs

Still waiting for our first air frost ... sorry ground frost. Currently 1.7C so looking likely. Even so it's the latest date I can remember.

No air frost here this autumn yet but I expect one by midnight, it's
down to +0.9 deg C at 21:30 GMT.

Had a ground frost on 25 October (-1.6) but that's gone already this
evening, it's currently -4.3 deg C on the grass, a dry frost so far,
and the lowest since 22 February (-4.8). The north wind's dropped
right away this evening here and it's crisp and clear but not even,
due to no snow!

Horrid weather yesterday following beautiful blue sky morning. A cold night suddenly broke about two or three am and I was thinking either that is the volcano going bang or we just had an earthquake (nothing significant barring the lapse of 28 hours.)

It turns out we had snow, pity I didn't get up to check. It wasn't the wet stuff either as cars kept a covering like white tile all day long.

I'm too old to enjoy that sort of thing these days. I hope it doesn't mean I am starting to grow up.
