Thunderbird is pretty good but has the same problem as MS Mail - and
possibly any other mail application that use the same storage system -
in that you have to be careful when prompted to compact mail folders;
if you don't go off-line when doing it, you may lose the odd e-mail.
Jim, If you only want a standalone newsreader with no mail capabilities,
Pan is the best I've used. http://pan.rebelbase.com/
Thanks replying Graham, I was just interested in a newsreader but I've
got my doubts about Mac mail at the moment, which mail program do you
use please ?
Turnpike is such an excellent all round mail and newsreader, I think
perhaps I'm judging everything else against it.
