Where did you get a 1500 UTC total for Shap from?
It couldn't be from it's SYNOP because they only report rainfall at main
hours.
Bruce.
I got the figure by adding up the hourly totals that are available via
Meteogroup's Weathercast 'Weather stations' page.
That's very clever - and it doesn't cost £500 a year!
That is excellent. I didn't know those obs were there. Unfortunately, when I
need the data it's usually for some time a few years in the past. The
Weathercast site doesn't help with that! I get enough use out of the data to
justify the £500 per year subscription but it would obviously be out of the
question for 'recreational' use.
