On my mother's maternal side my great great grandfather I have
discovered came from Halifax in Nova Scotia, arriving in the
UK as a boy. It's in the blood!!!

Much as I hate rain and slush, however, I have to pour some
cautious cold water on it. As an experienced amateur
genealogist, I always advise people not to trust anything found
in any tree published on Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage and
similar sites. Some of the trees on these sites are meticulously
researched, but others are arrant or even malicious fantasies.
Use them as a pointer for your own research, but don't believe
it without checking.
