Default Metcheck and Theweatheroutlook, hang your heads in shame!!!!!!!!

Damien responds.

Rupert:

If i remember correctly they both forecasted the Coldest Winter in
years with heavy snow and freezing conditions,

One of them did - that was The Weather Outlook.

But it annoys me,what about all the kids up and down the Country, most

i
guess have never seen much snow, given the current run of mild
Winters, being brought Sledges, because their Parents read in the

papers
about how cold this winter was going to be..

Agreed.

Believe me though, 2002 *was* worse. At least now I had tasted the
bitter taste of capitalist Conservative Party mild winter before.:-o
:-( :-(

I know of 2 people who have done that, even though i did try and tell
them the Headlines were bull.

I know of more.

Oh, and don't forget the Met Office;-) :-o:

Scott:

But an article on the
evaluation of a severe winter forecast that never was is never going
to make the same news pages that a potential severe winter will in
November.

I cannot honestly remember ANYBODY forecasting a *severe* winter this
year. Can you?

I know that The Weather Outlook and some others DID forecast a
"severe", per se, winter back in the autumn of 2001 for the coming
winter of 2002, hence this is where my beef directly comes from, and
that Brian Gaze was *ready* to repeat this in November 2003 for the
then-looming 2004 winter, in spite of what he will say. Metcheck should
and HAVE apologised, and I think I discussed this with Brian via
e-mail, can't remember what he told me though!:-o

Nath's comments are also correct.
