The date record today is only 14.4C. Almost certain to go.
I think it may have already been beaten and by the most unlikeliest of stations.
Great Dun Fell is reporting 14.7°C at 0900 UTC, which kind of corroborates the
0800 temperature of 14.9°C. The wind is meaning 40kts from 230°. On the lee side of the Pennines you could get 16°C or higher I would have thought, although Leeming has only 12.5°C at the moment.
Hi, Bruce,
It could be correct, but for some weeks I have been thinking Great Dun Fell is reading rather high.
Current Copley 10.5C and it doesn't look like inversion conditions.
Best wishes

I think you are probably right, it just looks too high at almost 15°C.
The temperature at Valentia at midnight was only 11.0°C at a similar height (772 m).
It certainly rules out any possibility of skiing for the next week at Weardale.
