The date record today is only 14.4C. Almost certain to go.

I think it may have already been beaten and by the most unlikeliest of stations.

Great Dun Fell is reporting 14.7°C at 0900 UTC, which kind of corroborates the
0800 temperature of 14.9°C. The wind is meaning 40kts from 230°. On the lee side
of the Pennines you could get 16°C or higher I would have thought,

although Leeming has only 12.5°C at the moment.

Hi, Bruce,
It could be correct, but for some weeks I have been thinking Great Dun Fell is reading rather high.
Current Copley 10.5C and it doesn't look like inversion conditions.

The temperatures tonight are quite insane.

As if got dark the temperature soared outside here to 13C where I am in
North Yorkshire. The strong wind is bringing in some very warm air.

It is still holding at 13C even now at 21.23UT. Hasn't been sunny all
day this is rapid warm air bulk movement rather than from insolation.
