Had our fair share of this muck this first half of winter. 13 miles walk
today and about 10 of it in thick fog or mist, our leader did well
navigating. Sticky boggy ground underfoot even on the "softer" and lower
eastern moor. At least it was dry and we even had a shot of sunshine at
Dartmeet where I was tempted to get an ice cream in the 11C heat. Max. in
Haytor +12.0C which is exceptionally mild for approaching mid-winter.
Looks like more flooding misery on the way in the west and north in this
renewed vile tropical spell but then later in the week northern Britain
turns much colder with some snow which could possibly come south next
weekend in a northerly when at least the sun should come out in drier and
clearer air. No real pattern change yet though just a colder airflow off the
Atlantic with a sinking jetstream once soggy, grotty Tuesday is out of the
way.

Well, near sea level it's been lovely, not the unbroken sunshine of Friday http://www.sennen-cove.com/22jan16.htm but still very pleasant indeed http://www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/m.html - just enough wind for the kite surfers, and enough warmth for a drink in the sun.
If you must live with your head in the clouds!
Tues/Weds look grim I admit.
What are you booking in for Thursday?
