Snowy in Shropshire this morning. 2-3 cm full cover at 0500z, but
rapidly melting now with only a few patches left in the shade. It
would've been my latest "snow lying" day, had it hung around.
Plenty left on the high ground above 250 metres.
Amazed when I looked out of my window this morning, and saw it snowing!
Unfortunately it didn't settle here - though it did on Cleeve Hill
apparently.
Yes we had a dusting in Wolverhampton. It was all gone by 11am.
As for Monday 25th it looks like we may get two to three inches of
crystallised water. I'll have to look at my old weather report book from
1981. I was a socialist back then and wanted to write down any perceived
misdemeanours of the atmosphere.
I remember the winter of 1981/82 which was very bad from the POV of
peoples extremities. Near to me at Newport (Salop) was the coldest
winter night at -27c for the land of the angles.
