Spanish Inquisition. The persecution of the Cathars. Bloody
Mary. Burning heretics at the stake. The English Civil War. The
Covenanting wars. Sectarian violence in Ireland and elsewhere.
Warring football supporters. Bizarre and extreme sects. Forcible
'conversion' of heathens leading to wholesale destruction of
traditions and customs in large swathes of Africa, America,
Australia and Asia. Infinite variations on the theme of
suppression or oppression of one flavour of Christianity by
adherents of a different flavour. Killjoy puritans.
Discrimination against people on religious grounds. All worthy,
historic traditional Christian customs.

And just by the way, if you are to be taken seriously as an
upholder of tradition and customs, you need to take some lessons
on the traditional, customary and correct placing of the
apostrophe in good old UK English.

Look Anne most Londoners broke with serious religion many decades ago, bar from weddings , and Christening most people never bothered-well not in my lifetime. The truth is good old capitalism and the increase in control it gave humans over their lives diminished religion in this country. If thirty years ago someone had told me that 'blasphemy' laws would be relevant I would have laughed as would most people now of course we never hear the end about religion but its Islam not Christianity that is dominating issues. If there has been any resurgence in Christianity is due to the constant demeaning of the faith and the constant promoting of Allah not by indigenous folk but by people politicians have welcomed into the country.

Did you know that Saudi Arabia refuses to take any Syrian refugees into its borders yet is currently funding the building of eight Mosques here in the UK ?

Christianity was a weakening force in this country and still is with the white non working classes not bothred and the middle classes switch to AGW as their religion. But now we will have a country eventually under a far more reactionary religion than Christianity would ever be
