Not even that far north.
Here it has been a most unpleasant day. Frequent showers blown
in on a strong NW wind. Very little sunshine. Showers clearing by
late afternoon but still windy.
If he'd said "cold in the North", "windy everywhere and cold in the
North" or "colder weather spreading Southwards to reach the South
Coast this evening" all would have been well. But he didn't qualify
his statements in any way... and it's that sort of sweeping
generalisation that gets 'em a bad name, often unecessarily.
Now, at 1 am, it's down to 5.5 deg C and does at last feel a bit nippy
outside but even this isn't "cold"; it's pretty average night-time
weather for February. Grrr!!!
