Default Penzance Dry - subtle change of airmass.

A cooler night with a minimum of 10.6C, lowest since 4th June.

A sunny start. A few small Cu soon developed away from the north coast.

These small Cu melted away around 11:00 to give clear blue skies around Mount's bay, but at the same time a low thin Sc sheet came into the north coast, where it's been bright but fairly cloudy since. As this sheet descends into Mount's Bay it keeps breaking to give sunny intervals.

Temperature reached 18.2C around 11:30, dropped back a touch as the low cloud encroached, but has now (15:00) edged back up to 18.6C. Scilly, still to the west of any low cloud, has had a glorious day so far. http://www.scillyman.co.uk/Lowertown_Cam.html Max of 19C on St Martin's

The Atlantic is much livelier now, much to the relief of the surf schools who have had a stressful time. A real swell at last, not just wind chop http://magicseaweed.com/Live-Sennen-Webcam/65/

Driest parts of the UK appear to be the 2 extremities. 3mm so far this month up in Shetland, 4mm on St Mary's Scilly.
