Default Notable evening thunderstorm in Brussels

Reposted on Friday as the original post from Thursday evening seems to
have got lost somewhere.

Brussels on Thursday 23rd June 2016

Bright start with a rapidly rising temperature, but increasingly dark
and threatening by mid-morning. Thunder now and again from 11.15 local
time, but I saw no lightning, and rain from 11.30, heavy for a few
minutes after 11.50. Storm moved away around 12.00, and the afternoon
was sunny with little or no cloud, but very warm and sultry.

Steady development of Cb after 18.00, and the sky again became
increasingly stormy-looking. Occasional TL from 19.50, and rain from
20.00 to 20.15. After a brief pause, fairly frequent TL and rain again
from 20.50. Thunder and lightning very active towards 22.00 with some
vivid close flashes and sharp cracks of thunder. Storm died away by
about 23.00.

Temperature up to 30°C in the afternoon: light and variable wind.

Brussels Uccle 29.8°C - overnight minimum 19.1°C – and 4 mm rain
Brussels Airport 30.1°C - overnight minimum 19.0°C - and 3 mm
