Probably the heaviest of this unsettled spell. What we used to call a
"cloudburst". Some thunder. About 10 minutes around 6 pm producing 6.5 mm.
Rarely have I gone from April to mid- July with a water butt remaining
sufficiently full to water all of the plants without reverting to tap
water.

Lucky you!
Although I never go short of rainwater, we hardly ever seem to get thunder
nowadays. Just two days with thunder so far this year, and it is my
favourite weather too, followed by snow. We get snow every winter but
thunder is becoming increasingly rare in these parts. Average 5.5 days per
year. Have to either go up country or overseas to get my thunder fix.
Dartmoor used to get storms, so something has changed, Spanish plumes are
now further east generally and we often get clean maritime Atlantic air as
opposed to many NE flows in summer. Perhaps it'll change, at least we still
get snow, though obviously not in summer :-)
