That's strange. He managed to not do it in this group for years and
years. Indeed, until recently there was ne'er a racist post in this
group at all. That'll be because no-one here would have given an racist
the time of day for such views. Not until you started jumping on the
occasional mildly xenophobic point in the rare OT post did things
explode into the mess we have today.

It is somewhat amusing that the person who sees himself as the champion
against racism in the group is the same person that triggered, feeds and
nurtures it.

If you are not part of the solution and all that..

Couldn't have put it better myself. It is xenophobia rather than racism anyway but everyone's a bit xenophobic. In many parts of the world people are suspicious even of people from another town, let alone country, let alone if they have a dark skin. It is human (and animal) nature and will always be there. Most people are decent and self-aware enough to accomodate this side of their nature. But unthinking screamers like Dawlish use it as means of claiming the moral high ground for reasons best known to himself.
I had a chance last night to reply to the two original and rather pathetic posts but decided to let them console each other in peace. If no-one replied they would eventually give it up. Now that the thread has turned into an unnecessary fight, thanks to Dipstick Dawlish having risen to the bait, I thought I might as well have my two penn'orth.
