What I like about Cornwall, is the way people use the beaches when it rains. It rather demonstrates how, certainly on the north coast, people come for the watersports, not lying down & getting burnt. I was in Torquay for a couple of days last year, as soon is it turned dull the beach was deserted. Thie difference is stark.
Must be a Torquay thing Graham, though I rarely ever go there thankfully
to comment.
Around 'ere though:
Windy: kite surfing, wind surfing and if there are waves, normal surfing.
Hot and sunny (no wind): kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, people stood
up on surfboard thingies with a paddle.
Breezy but no big surf: sailing/yachting (Sidmouth has its own yacht club).
The only thing the rain interferes with are the holiday-makers wanting
to sunbathe but you'll still see them swimming and the locals doing all
of the above no matter what the weather.....
In the winter time on a windy day the kite surfers are something else,
amazing to watch. So I don't think Cornwall has the monopoly on these
things.
Warm, dry and very humid today, especially this afternoon in the sunny
intervals.
