Truly I understand your concerns but, for me, the newsgroup has lost its
homely and friendly feel. It has become increasingly unpleasant due to
several posters choosing to react to our resident dementor. Several of
us have made heart felt requests for restraint, AKA 'don't feed the
troll', but our requests generally fall on deaf ears. I have never
understood why intelligent grown-ups cannot find the strength to just
ignore 'him'.

Because we're human beings. We don't "choose" to react, we just react. I cannot remain detached about such deliberate rudeness, arrogance and duplicity. Dawlish is quite outside the range of all the people I have ever met, an utter monstrosity.
