Presumably means that not a lot of rain fell through a quite thick overcast..
For me IIRC there was mist and light drizzle along with cold, calm weather.
And in the afternoon of the 10th a white peppering on the charts. Token of the eruption of the day before no doubt.
Speaking of which there should be quite a lot of salt produced with the effort of the coming Saturday and unless the decay of Maon and Twentyeight mean something else, the cold fronts also present that day are going to be unpleasant. Of course, if I am right about the one, I will be less so with the other, not a bad thing.
