The screen maximum here was 11.3°C after a min of -2.6°C. Frankly, I
don't believe this figure and I reckon the true max was about 8°C. This has
happened a number of times before in winter with a strong low sun and more
importantly, no wind to speak of. I didn't measure the air temperature by
waving a thermometer about in the shade of a bush but I have done so before
and found differences up to 3.5 degC. The screen and thermometers are all
quite kosher - it's a defect of the system and will remain so until a fan
becomes mandatory equipment.

About 12.30 yesterday I noticed how incredibly warm--almost hot-- our bin
shed's dark wooden door felt in direct line of the bright but low sun.
The air around at the time was barely moving and in the sun I must say it
was as if a warmer season was near.
