Default Warmest March in a local record back to 1797?

Met Office modelled temps suggest my local area having its warmest
March since 1797. A mean of 10.5°C is 2.8°C above average!

I'm a little surprised. Though it's seemed on the mild side here in
Surrey, my subjective impression hasn't been that it was anywhere near
record territory.
