Default Warmest March in a local record back to 1797?

SNIP

Looks set to be the 2nd or 2nd= warmest (to the nearest 0.1c) since 1991 here.
Warmest being 10.2C in 2003. 2012 was 9.8C. This year looks like ending up at 9.8C or 9.9C.

Mean temperature at 9.7C (29th) and that makes it the warmest March
since before 2005.

I am a little surprised by this. Must be the lack of sunshine that has
given the opposite impression.

I agree, it's not felt that warm a month. Looking a bit deeper the warmth is down to the mild nights. Sine 1991 the average maximum was higher in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007 & 2012.

The average minimum is a new record high (since 1991).

Only about 80 hours of sun so far up on the moors at Bosullow. Probably around 100 hours down at favoured coastal spots, but still pretty poor. 2015 & 2016 saw 135.2 & 133.4 hours of sun, even up on the moors.
