I hadn't heard that he was going anywhere. Where did you hear that he
was leaving?

I saw a few comments on Twitter over the past couple of days from BBC
colleagues.


That's a shame. I think he was probably the best of the BBC
forecasters/presenters. Hopefully we will still see him from time to time
freelancing in documentaries, something that he seems to have been doing
increasingly over the last few years.



John presented the forecast on the BBC Derby Twitter feed this evening.

It's a shame to see him go - but they do seem to pop up elsewhere. I remember when David Braine left, also the best forecaster at the time he left, but I understand he's now part of the furniture at Spotlight South West
