Default Long stretch of easterlies......

If snow is already on the ground before this easterly sets in over the
Continent it will speed up the cooling process. Is it were just grass
and soil a). this would probable start above feezing, b). Any sun
would reflect rather than obsorb during the day etc. So my thinking is
that once the air starts it's westwards journey it should be pretty
cold after a couple of clear nights over there.

As for the 1°c per day, who knows, what I am interested in is that it
is cold enough to snow and colder still to settle when the east wind
sets in.

Keep an eye on northern European temperatures.

Cheers Robin in (sheltered) Dorset but hoping for snow that his 4x4
cannot cope with therefore extending Half Term!
