On South Today (BBC TV) the forecast tonight was for the hurricane making landfall here on Sunday!


I did see on BBC news ch yesterday evening on the met graphics, but I
don't see on the public plots now an intense narrowing of the isobars
about south of Ireland early Sunday. The presenter made no mention of
it, considering it looked remarkable narrowing to me.
GFS hi-res has it as a trough, tending to mini low? with very localised
wind enhancement patch in the west English channel, but no more than
35mph sustained / 45mph gusts.
Of little marine interest as more like neaps tides then, unlike 23 Aug
and the North Sea and spring tides then , as the windy back edge of
ex-Gert comes around into the picture
