Well, after ther worst blizzard here since 1987 on 28th feb with no warning, another 5 to 10 cm of snow on the 1st March with a yellow warning, we are now 9 hours into an amber warning and it’s virtually cloudless, with the temp forecast to reach 4C in Penzance by noon, 7C warmer than at the same time on 1sr March. That will be 12 hours of amber warning with a minimal chance of significant snow, even by the MetO own forecasts.

We will see what happens later, but it’ll be nothing like the end of feb, 1st March

It's coming your way...

The thing is , we have had an orange warning since midnight, plenty of sunshine, light winds, and the ground has warmed up so much even heavy snow will struggle to settle.

Absolutely no comparison to the sub zero temps, near gale, blowing heavy snow and severe disruption of 28th Feb in particular, when all we seem to hear was the forecast for snow 1st March! Even on 1st the warning was only yellow

Max 5.4 around noon, 8C warmer than at the same time on 1st.

Even if we get significant problems later today, the question is why has there been an orange warning for 12 hours when there was, even based on the forecast yesterday afternoon, absolutely no reason for it?
