They already have become less frequent, frightened off in advance presumably.
The proof is an article by Stephen Burt in the current COL (not you, Col, but the Climatological Observers Link bulletin).

Going back a while I think.
Anyway, I assume that Len puts his tongue-in-cheek posts here and the more serious ones in another place. There are so many ways to answer his post - as someone of Welsh origin living in the warmest part of the country - not a Londoner and not (quite) in London. Even 25 felt awful today - ten more degrees by Thursday at least! It would be most improper of me to put any hint of politics in the body of my reply of course.
