You must be aware that UK produces only about 2% of CO2 emissions.
Without agreeing or disagreeing whether man made global warming is a
fact surely, whatever UK does, will not make the slightest
difference. Ask China and India to cut down emissions and you could
be in business.
I agree that any action taken by the UK alone will make no difference
to future global emissions but that is not the really serious point.
What really does need addressing is that the effects of climate change
already locked into the system will be global, especially sea level
rise. I suspect it is too late to prevent whatever it is will happen as
a result of this climate change already locked in. We'll just have to
find ways of adapting and living with a changing climate. It is that
which seems likely to cripple global and national economies, including
ours. If we can't adapt then the alternative is not a nice thought.
