Default [OT] Record Australian temperatures

In article ,
says...
The bush fire are an annual event, but this year after 3 years of drought they are unprecedented. I always thought Australian drought was associated with an El Nino event, there's not been a full blown one of these for sometime now, so what else is causing the drought?

El Nino is a factor but I believe the Indian Dipole is the main driver
for Australia's rain. That has been very + for a few years now. + value
increases the rain over Africa's East coast.
