That's your puffed-up ego talking. I was here long before you
decided that:

I'm getting the impression that that sort of information isn't welcome
on this group (UKSW) as it conflicts with long-held beliefs, about
which no questions are tolerated.

and came here a trolling.

Well, 'Jim', your grip on reality really is slipping - need to blame
your friend, the troll that cross-posted this message from the radio
group. I'm sure you can guess who it might be:

The deep blue sky and crystal clear air brought high UV index

Yesterday's UV max was 7.7, today's was 6.8.

I suspect the lower UV today was because of the lack of cloud
(reflection) despite a deep blue sky just like yesterday. The
solar irradiance was also lower today with a maximum of 852 W/m²
compared to yesterday's 1083 W/m².

Depending on the number of and position of clouds, especially
fair weather clouds, this can make a big difference to solar
irradiation levels and at best can add about 1 on to the UV Index.

SE winds & high UV just don't go together. I notice the forecast
keeps going on about very high UV, when it's a good deal lower
during a few days late May when it reached 9 at Camborne on at
least 2 days. Classic warm sector ridge & slight mistiness that we
haven't really seen in June.

No wonder people relate high UV to temperature. Not to mention windy
condition = a big swell, some people even believe in the existence
of gale force gusts. On top of which we're set to be stuck with
Boris or Hunt.

I thought the most depressing thing watching that Greenpeace girl
(wearing a red dress & having told people on the door they were from
Greenpeace which is known never to condone violence) being attacked
by that thug, was that nobody came to her aid. These are the people
who are running the Country (not just England, but Wales, Scotland &
Cornwall).

I'm sure I'm living in some sort of virtual reality & I'll soon come
back to the real world. It's was bad enough having to put up with
Abba tribute bands

Apologies for drifting into grumpy old man mode!

..........and I haven't heard one politician mention the current
global atmospheric CO2 concentration of around 415 ppm. That's the
most important statistic that exists at present and it's one that'll
result in huge changes to human life worldwide during the remainder
of this century. Part of me is glad that I won't be around to see it
all happen and part of me wishes that I could be around to see it all
happen. Whatever the detail, it won't be pretty :-(

You shouldn't worry about it so much. Over in uk.radio.amateur we have
a poster called Spike (his friends call him Burt) who can prove
beyond doubt that Global Warming is not happening.

I have xposted, as I'm sure he will be pleased to put your mind at rest.

Over to you, Spike.
