RMK: It was quite a night. At around 2100z yesterday
evening frequent lightning could be seen far to the SW.
This gradually got closer and by the time I went to bed
at about 2200z there were distant rumbles of thunder.
At 0000z I was awoken by frequent close lightning and
very loud continuous thunder. The near-overhead storm
continued till about 0215z with heavy rain throughout
and a max rate of 130 mm/hr. All is quiet this
morning and it's another warm, sticky morning with
strong sunshine developing.
0900z 36003kt 20km 1Ac080 20.6/19.4 1014
RMK: Upper cloud has dissipated. It's now sunny, hot
and humid.

1600z 06005kt 15km 1Cu040 30.0/20.3 1013
RMK: A sunny, hot and sticky day. Not a day for doing
much. With a max of 30.1° it's the hottest day of the
month so far. Very unpleasant IMHO. No signs of any
convective development in this area but we might be at
risk again later from exports from further south.
