I do not think La Nina will have much influence on the winter weather. For the UK to have cold weather, the wind needs to be from an easterly direction.
It is unlikely this winter will be as cold as the years mentioned. December 2010 was cold but it was rare as it was the coldest in 100 years.
I think this winter will be average but colder than last year.
