Beaufort letters (1100-1200Z): cr,crr

Overcast with occasional slight rain and drizzle, but moderate rain
set in at 1050Z. Dense fog at first. Out of fog limits at 0905Z when
the stratus lifted and the visibility rapidly improved to good. Low
cloud still covers St. Catherine's Hill but has just cleared all of
the other downs. Moderate visibility in moderate rain but very good
over water to SW where there is a brightening of the sky (and sea),
although no blue sky is visible. Gradual veer of the wind from W to
NW, mainly F4.
RH 96%. Rainfall (0600-1200Z): 3.7mm
