RMK: A dry but mostly cloudy day with very little wind.
There were occasional small holes in the cloud sheet but
these didn't result in any sunshine. The cloud is now
dissipating in the eastern half of the sky but it's persisting
in the western half. The first 6 days of March have produced
a total of only 0.3 hours of sunshine. Max temp 4.3C

It was a cloudy grey cold morning in Didsbury, south Manchester, but the
sun started to break through from about 1230 pm and from 1 pm onwards it
was mainly sunny for the rest of the day, with most of the earlier dissipating.
It remained distinctly chilly though - max temp about 7c.
