I took a couple of images earlier today when there was a surface inversion
here. The effect on plume behaviour is fairly clear to see. Much can be
learned about the temperature structure of the lowest layers by looking at
how chimney smoke behaves. I intend to add to this page when I get some
decent images of other plume types.
