Accounts vary. In the Post Office in Godalming I heard a very heavy
thunderclap with a slight after-rumble. At home half a mile away, my
wife reported the single heavy thunderclap with impressive reverberation
round the hills afterwards. Lighting seen to the south. Traffic lights
failed and came on again stuck in our favour, but domestic supply
uninterrupted.

Heard one loud rumble in Fleet, Hampshire. Lights flipped off for a
split second. Got all excited, then it rained and moved away.
