Default "Suckers Gap"

Did you see the BBC forecast yesterday where the forecaster said:" This
is known as "Suckers Gap" in the trade". That's where you have one front
immediately on the heels of another with a clear spell in the middle.
You think the rain is over, because of the clearance, then you (poor
sucker) get caught out by the second front.

Think the term comes from aviation... Usually applies to a brief
brightening prior to the arrival of a cold front.

A familiar experience on the hill.
