Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do.

Just come in from watching an awesome aurora 1005-1040 UTC.
The whole of the northern sky from WNW to NE was lit by a bright whitish-green
light totally obscuring all stars and brighter than a full moon. Light strong to
30 degrees above horizon and weaker to circa 50 degrees above, with streaking to
almost vertical above. Within that light were faint streaks of red and for about
20 minutes a more obvious curtain of red strobes migrated east across the
northern sky. Even the scattered medium clouds were lit red by the streaks. At
one time looking due north was like looking into a torch !

I have never ever seen anything like that in my life, let alone in Devon, it has
left me feeling elated, slightly tearful and deeply emotional all at the same
time.

We are so small in this beautiful universe.

Peace and joy,

Will.
