Clear skies here near Cambridge.

I have seen plenty of lunar eclipses over the years and had made no special
plans to get up specially for this one. But I happened to wake up at 0113
bang in the middle of totality. Bearing in mind that this was far from
being a central eclipse, the moon was remarkably dark. I have seen eclipse
that were more or less central when the moon remained a lot brighter than
this one. I guess the earth's atmosphere tonight was rather cloudy in the
appropriate places, hence the darkish eclipse.
