Real Open Log Fires
I still would not get too excited about an imminent cold spell though. It is
a bit too early for that, but at least some longer term signs maybe there.
Gavin.
What is it about COLD weather that we all like?
For me, its an excuse to light a real fire in the fireplace.
There is nothing like venturing outside to icy cold weather preferably with significant snow with a
bucket to collect logs and/or coal.
Then coming inside to a warm and cosy living room with the lights turned off and a good DVD movie on
the wide-screen TV.
The flickering of the flames in a dark room when it is cold outside is a feeling that cannot be
matched.
I have already purchased my annual 100 logs (for £7.50) from a local tree-feller.
I have lit 2 fires so far this season. Admittedly neither was necessary. I hope I have a
"genuine" excuse to light a fire well before and during Christmas.
