Phil, that is very surprising.
Mind you I only managed 9.2 mm up to 1800 today which for these parts is
not
much more than a scotch mist :-)

Here in West Wales, I recorded 40mm for the 24 hours up to 1700 today.

I am in an area that was supposed to have been hit by high winds. I do not
have a wind gauge yet (roll on Christmas g) but the wind did not keep me
awake last night and today I could see little evidence of debris on the
roads.
