Is it usual for the 15 min average to be higher than the max+min one (I
mean generally, not just for this site)?

I assume studies must have been done on this?

For Epping November mean 8.8°C (Max+Min/2) but derived (manually)from AWS
0900 readings. This is the figure I use for website data. AWS automatic (10
minute download) mean 8.6° but based on the Davis Weatherlink
Midnight-Midnight cycle.
For this year AWS readings have, on average been 0.5° lower each month than
max+min/2 method.

All the best
