Default Fabulous weather and climate presentation [OT?]

I was out in Regina (Saskatchewan) last winter when the temp was down
at -30C. (wind-chill -40C at times)

What was strange was how normal everything was. Its a modern city of 250
000, shopping malls, normal sorts of cars on the roads etc. (Very little
snow on the ground - its right in the heart of the Canada so dry). It was
very easy to get lulled into a false sense of security about the weather and
forget that frostbite was a serious hazard everytime you went out. ..And
tough luck if you didn't remember to plug the engine block heater in when
you parked the car.

(That's when I began to appreciate wind chill warnings on the weather
forecast - not like the BBC!)

The place is well named. At those sort of temperatures, I imagine that
if you don't remain alert to the dangers then you could soon be dead.
