Very nice - where in Canada was this taken?

Ok I can see where some might say this is OT, But I'll leave it to
Grumpy, Bob in Seattle and the Good Poster to decide. When I showed up they
were about the only others here.
As to the Picture, I for one can't get enough Aurora Images. I've only
seen one once, and it was limited to a Red Glow.

I saw some pretty good ones when back in RI in the 1980's but only have
seen a "hint" of one here in TX.

BTW, IMNSHO any pic of the sky ain't OT...

Nice shot! you even managed to get the constellations of Cassiopeia and
Perseus in the frame too

A great effort!

Cheers

Well there they were...my last aurora pic (from the same location) has the
Big Dipper in the same place.
A great effort!
Andy

Thanks. I didn't notice them until around 4 AM when I stuck my head out the
door before going to bed-which I didn't do. Got a phone call from a friend
this morning asking if I'd seen them last night-at midnight. He was going
to call me to tell me to look outside but he decided that normal people
don't get calls that late.

Aurora ~is~ an atmospheric phenomenon, after all

I've only managed one decent photo in all my years. And that was nearly
17 years ago...

Bob ^,,^

If you want to know the possibility of seeing an aurora at your location try
this :
www.swpc.noaa.gov/SWN/index.html
and check the "Magnetic Field Bz Component" graph-when the arrow goes
strongly negative it's time to look. Other graphs will tell you how far
south the aurora might get. Thanks to George N. in a.b.p.astro for this.
