Yes it is, John - although after going through a few droughts I will never
complain about the rain again. Right now we are about halfway between the
extreme flooding and the extreme drought - right at normal. The garden is
happy right now.

Sorry, Sue. We are keeping our normal weather as long as we can. Perhaps
my friends in southeast Missouri and on downstream would share some of their
flood water with you.

It's rain we need, how'd we get floodwater uphill to here?
Maybe we could send them some cracks in the ground they could use for
storage...

Sure would like to send you some of this weather, wettest spring ever
raining right now.
Atleast the high water is now well south of us. after getting high on
the local flood walls.

Where this backhow is, WAS under 26 ft of water, they are cleaning the boat
dock trailer parking lot. much of the silt has been trucked off,
while what is left is being pushed & washed back into the river with fire
hoses. river still has to drop another 15-20ft to normal pool.

It's good stuff that silt, really fertile. You can't beat floodplains
for agriculture, it's building on them that's silly!

Please, if you can, send us a picture from this spot after the river gets
down to normal. I would love to compare the two.

Same spot taken before the river rise. Will take some more when the river
is down and the trees are full green.
