There is a big difference between chemtrails and contrails.

The latter actually exist.

This appears to be someone's hypothesis about twiddling with the
highest layers of the atmosphere.

"Chemtrails" in loon lore are just purposely misidentified aircraft
condensation trails.

It's not a hypothesis. Its a patent of the developer of the
technology which is being used by HAARP.

I am not asking you to beleive me. I don't have to convince anyone.
I was hoping you would disagree. Actually it would be very comforting
to know that this is not true.

How does studying aurorae in Alaska translate to "chemtrails"
everywhere else?

I have seen con trails and chem trails in the sky at the same time in
Edinburgh and know the difference. The first disappears quickly. The
second expands and lasts and the particle fallout causes me chest
problems.

How is the astroturf?

you need better briefing!

The contributors to this group are very intelligent people and need
evidence not dogma!

Sorry for the rant.

Quite astonishing how far this thread has drifted! Perhaps if I had
given it the title "Vapour trails in South Bucks" some people not from
the UK might not have understood.
Nevertheless I am glad I have provided a platform for this obtuse
thread-spread.
Yesterday, in the glorious blue sky and warm sunshine we enjoyed in
South Bucks, our bit of the sky was full of vapour trails. Other
technical matters did not bother us - the questions were simple -
where did the plane come from and where is it going?
Answers were not available.

Vapour trails or contrails.. Doesn't matter. I enjoy watching what the
trails do when the planes fly high overhead.. I've also flown in a plane and
watched the mist/condensation/whatever coming off the back edge of the
wing.. It's fun to speculate about where the planes/trails came from and
where they're going.

Of course they're available, but a little knowledge is a dangerous
thing: you could turn into one of those sad blokes hanging around the
perimeter of Heathrow collecting reg numbers!

A simple matter of temperature and relative humidity at the altitude
the plane is flying. Planes fly at different levels; avoids the nasty
paper work when they run into each other. RH can very fairly
substantially over small delta in height. Drier air, the water vapor
from the jet exhaust condenses and then evaporates quickly. Closer to
saturation temp, and the condensation can last long enough to freeze;
sublimation from ice crystals is a much slower process than
evaporation from liquid, so the ice crystals can linger and spread in
the plane's wake and ambient winds. Cirrostratus Pratt&Whitnus.

Small particles injected into the atmosphere, whether by jet engine
exhaust or "other" means - take a looong time to filter to the
surface. I suggest you look to sources much closer to the ground for
your health troubles.

How is the astroturf?

Over on the play field. I'd guess. I prefer the atmospheric sciences
section in the library.
