Venus transit day was overcast with scattered showers and then a night time
severe thunderstorm alert which turned out to be accurate for a change. Hours of rain and lightning/thunder still going on as I write this. Window mounted camera on the down wind side of the car, garbage bag over the lens. From my usual country road. jim |

Here's one for everyone. It certainly was a spectacular storm between 10:30 & 01:30! Peter |

Here in Seattle, the sun poked through the clouds for just a very short time early in the transit, then was gone for the day. Bob ^,,^ |

Crazy Ed Sony Alpha A550 with Sigma 50~500 at the long end, and a Thousand Oaks Optical RG-4000 solar filter (a bit of Scotch mounting tape on the inside of the filter carrier and it fits quite nicely on the Bigma's ample snout.) The image posted is at full resolution. Great lens for my aviation obsession (sans solar filter, of course...), though it weighs well over 4 lbs. Sore arm to prove it. Bob ^,,^ |
