Unlike Sundogs which are seen ~ 22 degrees Horizontally from the Sun,
Iridescent can be seen until the glow from the Sun washes the effect out and the effect isn't in a circle. This shot is the most color saturated I have ever seen. The other times I've seen it the colors went from red to orange and rarely included green, but yesterday the colors went from red to blue. Sadly Cameras do not have the dynamic range of the human eye because even with contrast enhancement the colors are not as vibrant as they looked live. Crazy Ed |
