What is usually the hottest hour of the day?
 

I've found that the hottest time is about 4-5PM in the summer months
(Eastern US) and about 2PM in the Winter months.

I assume that the noon day sun is the brightest, but I wonder if there
might be some sort of accumulation of heat going on which will push the
hottest hour back from noon.
