BOMB WILMA'S EYE??

Could a powerful explosion into Wilma's eye break up its momentum enuff to
weaken or kill it off??

"A mature hurricane of moderate strength and size releases as much
condensation heat energy in a day as the fusion energy of about 400 hydrogen
super bombs," Robert and Joanne Simpson wrote in a report to the Project
Stormfury Advisory Panel, a scientific body formed in 1964 to try to find
hurricanes' "Achilles' heel."

HELL, why don't you just look up the info. Form the source I got it from.
Google it you lazy person...

More than likely yes, one (or several) hydrogen bombs would cause a
shock wave strong enough to disrupt the rotational organization of the
hurricane and essentially close the eye.

Many people think that it would not work, but they are mistaking the
total thermal energy available to the hurricane (which is very large)
vs the actual kinetic energy present in the rotating air mass (which
is on par with, or less than, the energy release of one or several
H-bombs).

However, if a bomb blast were to cause the hurricane to lose it's
rotational organization, it may re-gain it several hours to several
days later. Or it may not re-form. It would depend on the
atmospheric gradients present at the location where the blast takes
place.

Think of water swirling down a drain. The vortex is the eye-wall.
Stick your finger in the vortex and disrupt it, and the vortex
disappears. Remove your finger, and the vortex will re-form. The
vortex is acting like a "worm-hole", connecting areas of low and high
pressure.

In theory you could test this method on a terrestrial tornado (with
conventional explosives). Assuming you could position enough TNT (or
equivalent) in the path of a tornado (or drop it from a plane or
helicopter?) then detonating the explosives should cause the tornado
to lose it's rotational organization immediately.

All these hurricanes and the tsunami, they're a bitch.

The prices for a tropical vaction are going to go through the roof,
with all these properties dammaged world-wide, the ones that are still
functioning will be able to charge a premium.

Airlines that depend on tourist traffic will certainly suffer too, if
the rooms aren't there.
