It never rains but it pours.
I wonder how the heat spikes in the chart given he http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/New...3?img_id=17069 would compare with the cyclonic activity over the rest of the planet for the periods covered. Plenty on Wilma too: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/New...3?img_id=17068 |

Talking about heat, the evenings and mornings have been quite warm over
the last few days. I don't think there will be records broken tomorrow but forecasts have slated a fairly close approach of 19 or 20 degrees C. (I believe the record is about 23 deg C.) Well we have had the very heavy rain that the moon was due to bring and no doubt it will continue like this through the next spell too. Which means that another major earthquake or two are not unlikely somewhere or other in a couple of weeks. Experienced storm watchers might care to keep an eye on: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/recenteqs...uakes_all.html for prequels. I'm not sure what to look for with them though. In the meantime: Is there another hurricane in the offing? (To be honest, all I have to go on with that is that when a series of spells produce a long lasting run of similar weather they usually end with such a bang. However an almost certain precursor to major quakes is that the weather is not what should be expected from the McNeil Book of Spells. Still it's best ot expect the worst, eh?) ((Maybe a majorish volcanic eruption?)) The remnants of Wilma are scheduled to arrive up here -somewhere to the west of us, on Sunday. That should be interesting given the present run. |
Stooopid.

Perhaps I aught to write to the BBC about the reason for the warm weather and the certainty of its continuing through the rest of the yearas evidenced by: OCT. 3 10 28 OCT. 10 19 01 OCT. 17 12 14 OCT. 25 1 17 NOV. 2 1 24 NOV. 9 1 57 NOV. 16 0 57 NOV. 23 22 11 DEC. 1 15 01 DEC. 8 9 36 DEC. 15 16 15 DEC. 23 19 36 DEC. 31 3 12 These are wet spells. Of course there is going to be hell to pay for a series as long as this. But it won't be due to freezing cold. The damned fools! Thes are the lunar phases for next week if you care to go through them: JAN. 6 18 56 JAN. 14 9 48 JAN. 22 15 14 JAN. 29 14 15 FEB. 5 6 29 FEB. 13 4 44 FEB. 21 7 17 FEB. 28 0 31 MAR. 6 20 16 MAR. 14 23 35 MAR. 22 19 11 MAR. 29 10 15 APR. 5 12 01 APR. 13 16 40 APR. 21 3 28 APR. 27 19 44 MAY 5 5 13 MAY 13 6 51 MAY 20 9 21 MAY 27 5 26 JUNE 3 23 06 JUNE 11 18 03 JUNE 18 14 08 JUNE 25 16 05 JULY 3 16 37 JULY 11 3 02 JULY 17 19 13 JULY 25 4 31 AUG. 2 8 46 AUG. 9 10 54 AUG. 16 1 51 AUG. 23 19 10 AUG. 31 22 57 SEPT. 7 18 42 SEPT. 14 11 15 SEPT. 22 11 45 SEPT. 30 11 04 OCT. 7 3 13 OCT. 14 0 26 OCT. 22 5 14 OCT. 29 21 25 NOV. 5 12 58 NOV. 12 17 45 NOV. 20 22 18 NOV. 28 6 29 DEC. 5 0 25 DEC. 12 14 32 DEC. 20 14 01 DEC. 27 14 48 http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/MoonPhase.html#y2006 Divide the nearest hour by 3 or by 6 and if the result brings it to a remainder of 1 or 4, the spell is a wet one. If it is a wet spell it is a warm spell and the danger in the UK is not from exposure but of Flu. (No cigar for guessing what it will be called this year.) |
